In recent times being loaned out of Leeds United has been pretty much a death sentence for your career at Elland Road.Indeed, the likes of Lewie Coyle, Pawel Cibicki, Caleb Ekuban and Yosuke Ideguchi have all been immediately sold after being loaned out, and you’d be forgiven for thinking a similar fate lies in store for Jay-Roy Grot.Phil Hay has previously said that it’s not going to happen for the young striker at Leeds, and it’s very hard to disagree with that statement as he’s done very little while out on loan to convince any of the higher-ups back in Yorkshire that he should be handed an opportunity.

Two goals in 22 league games makes for dreadful reading for any striker, but this weekend he showed a glimpse of what he’s capable of.
The striker netted an incredible solo strike against FC Twente in Vitesse’s 1-0 win over their Eredivisie opponents, and it’s impossible to not be left in awe of the forward after seeing the strike.
Not much really needs to be said about the above video, it’s quite simply an astonishing goal.
If you didn’t know anything else about Grot and you saw this strike you’d think he’s one of the most talented players currently plying their trade in the Netherlands, but his goal record begs to differ.
However, it’s encouraging to see that the 21-year-old does have the talent to produce moments like this, and if that talent can be harnessed then United could still have a bit of a player on their hands.
Luckily, United have a man at the helm who has previously been hailed as the best coach in the world, and if anyone can unlock the talent that Grot showed this weekend on a more regular basis it’s Marcelo Bielsa.
Hopefully, we see Grot score a few more of these strikes while wearing the famous white shirt of Leeds United in the coming years.
In other news, Leeds fans have been raving over one man.
